Parental Rights Guide
This is a guide to facilitate the understanding 2005-2010 Collective Agreement parental rights clauses (5-6.00) . The guide is divided in 5 sections: maternity leave, paternity leave, adoption leave, extension of the various leaves and other parental leaves. You will also find a memory guide about the pregnancy period, the maternity leave process and the various letter-types to facilitate the demand process to the employer. Should you need more information, plase contact your local union.
This guide applies to people living in the Quebec territory and complies with the Quebec Parental Insurance Plan (http://www.rqap.gouv.qc.ca/). Thus it does not deal with the federal Employment Insurance plan. Please note that throughout the document, unless stated otherwise, Continued Education teachers are considered non-permanent teachers.
